The questions we get asked

The essentials first, then each tool: what it looks at, what it doesn’t do, and why it matters to you.

The essentials

Is it really free?

Yes. All six tools are free, with no sign-up. You get a score out of 100, every finding, and the list of fixes to pass on to whoever runs your site. We only ask for your email to send you ChatGPT’s answers to three real questions about your business, or to alert you when a domain’s score changes.

What do you do with my email address?

Only to send you what you asked for: the answers of the ChatGPT test, or an alert when a domain’s score changes. Every alert has a stop link, and nothing is resold. The address given for the test is erased after thirty days. Without an email, we keep the measured domain, its result and its date, with an unreadable fingerprint of your connection.

Do you change anything on my site?

No. We read your pages like a visitor, installing nothing. Our visit only leaves a line in your server’s logs, like any visit.

What exactly do you measure?

Six things a site doesn’t say about itself. What AI retains of it, and whether your emails arrive. What a stranger learns from your server, and what a screen reader hears. What a privacy regulator (the CNIL in France) would see, and how long phones wait.

Do I need to rebuild my site to fix what the audit finds?

Almost never. What hurts you most gets fixed within what you already have. A forgotten instruction that locks AI out: we remove it. An address stuck in an image: we put it back as text. Count a few hours, not a redesign.

How long after my fixes do AIs take them into account?

Nobody can promise a delay: AIs and search engines come back, but they don’t relearn overnight. Run the audit again a month after your fixes to see what has changed.

Can I display my grade on my site?

Yes. Each tool has its badge: a small card with the letter and the score, to put on your site. Measure your domain first. The image is then at ovenir.com/badge/visibilite/your-domain.com and always shows your latest result.

What AI knows about you

Does ChatGPT really read my site?

Yes. OpenAI, Anthropic and Perplexity each run a crawler that browses the web. During the audit, we introduce ourselves to your site as them and note what happens: access is open, or refused.

My site ranks well on Google. Why not in ChatGPT?

Because they don’t read the same things. An AI mostly keeps the text written in the page. Your opening hours in a pretty image, it may well miss.

How is this different from a classic SEO audit?

An SEO audit prepares you for Google rankings. Here, we look at what an AI retains about you when someone asks it for advice, and whether it cites you. It’s another door to your customers.

Why does the audit read only four pages of my site?

Because an AI stops early too. The homepage and three chosen pages, the ones that usually carry your identity and your answers, give a faithful picture without making you wait.

Your emails

My emails go out fine. Why measure them?

Leaving isn’t arriving. Without the right locks, your messages slide into spam, and above all anyone can write pretending to be your domain. We read the public state of those locks and give you the exact lines to set.

SPF, DKIM, DMARC: what are they, in one sentence?

Three public settings that prove a message really comes from you. SPF says who may send, DKIM signs the content, DMARC tells inboxes what to do with a message that fails. Nothing to install.

Security

You test my security? You won’t break anything?

We attack nothing: we read what your server announces to any visitor. No intrusion, no password tried. A good score isn’t a certification: it says that what shows from outside is in order.

What can a stranger really learn about my server?

More than you’d think: the software running your site, sometimes its version, the missing protections. The audit shows what is visible, and how to hide it.

Accessibility

Is accessibility mandatory for me?

For many businesses, yes. Since June 2025, European law covers online commerce, banking, transport and media, except very small companies. For everyone else, a site usable by keyboard simply serves more people.

Is an automated check enough to be compliant?

No, and we say so: automated checks cover about a third of the criteria. They do catch the most frequent faults: images without text, unlabeled fields, silent links, contrast. It’s a good place to start.

Cookies and privacy rules

What would a privacy regulator (the CNIL in France) see on my site?

What our robot finds: trackers set before any choice, the banner and what it really blocks, the legal pages. It refuses cookies, then counts what still gets sent. It’s indicative, not legal advice.

With no cookies and no ads, do I still have obligations?

Yes, a few. Legal notices and information about data are still required. And a tracker can slip in without you, through an embedded video, a remote font or a share button. The audit tells you if that’s the case on your site.

Site speed

How is this speed test different from others?

A stopwatch depends on place, time and device. So we grade structure: weight, images, cache, compression, blocking scripts. It’s stable, comparable, and every lost point names a precise fix. The times shown are reference points, with their method.

Does page weight still matter with fiber?

On mobile, yes: an average connection on the move pays for every megabyte. The number one cause is almost always the same: images served far larger than their size on screen.
